Kinshasa. 13 soldiers deployed for peacekeeping in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DR Congo) have been killed in an encounter with the rebel M23 group. The South African army said that 9 of its soldiers who were trying to stop the rebels from entering the city of Goma in the east of the country were also killed.

Besides that, three peacekeepers from Malawi and one from Uruguay were killed. The Democratic Republic of Congo has severed diplomatic relations with neighboring Rwanda over allegations of support for the M23 rebels.

Thirteen UN peacekeepers have been killed in clashes with M23 in the last few days. The United Nations is going to withdraw all personnel from Goma, except for essential ones, and the bad situation there is being discussed in the UN Security Council on Sunday. The discussion scheduled for Monday is scheduled to be held on Sunday. Agency
