Education, Science and Technology Minister Sumana Shrestha has said that 825 teachers have given up their political affiliations so far.
Minister Shrestha informed about the achievement of 100 days in charge of the ministry by holding a press conference on Tuesday and said that the party politicization in education will be stopped by ending it.
According to Minister Shrestha, 825 teachers have renounced their political affiliations.
She also said that since she became the minister, 41 teachers were asked for an explanation and four were acquitted.
Minister Shrestha had written a letter on May 4 last, asking to free the education sector from politics, deciding to implement the law that would not allow teachers to be members of political parties.
