Discussion between the President of Egypt and the Omani Sultan on the Palestinian-Israeli tension
Cairo. Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi and Oman’s Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said discussed the ongoing tension between Palestine and Israel on Wednesday, according to a statement issued by the Egyptian President’s Office.
In the phone conversation, the two leaders discussed the serious impact of ongoing tension and conflict on human suffering on regional security and stability.
The statement said, ‘Both leaders have agreed on the importance of united efforts to urge the parties to calm down and reduce violence.’
“Efforts must be advanced to reach a just, comprehensive and lasting solution to the Palestinian issue based on a two-state solution that will achieve security and stability for all the peoples of the region,” the statement said. Hamas has killed more than 1,200 Israelis since the conflict began on Saturday.
