Kathmandu – Nepal Chamber of Commerce and Indian Chamber of Commerce and Millennial Chamber of Commerce have signed an agreement for cooperation in the economic and commercial sector.
A discussion was held between the Chambers of Commerce of Nepal and India regarding bilateral investment and trade facilitation. On the invitation of Nepal Chamber of Commerce, officials of Indian Chamber and Millennial Chamber of Commerce and a professional delegation came to Nepal.
The officials of both the chambers were welcomed by the president of Nepal Chamber of Commerce, Kamlesh Aggarwal, at the chamber building at Jamal.
Before the International Investment Conference, there was a discussion between the chamber officials of both the countries about the investment environment, legal framework and other issues in Nepal. Chamber President Agarwal said that Nepal is an excellent destination for investment due to its labor force, price, and assurance of return.
Chairman Agarwal said, “I think that today’s program is special for the discussion on the economic relations between the two countries and various aspects of the economy.” Since we represent the private sector, economic relations between Nepal and India are our main interest.
Chairman Agarwal said that the Nepal Chamber of Commerce is always ready to cooperate with the Indian private sector in matters such as increasing the production of export goods from Nepal, customs facilitation, etc.
Chairman Agarwal emphasized that there is a lot of potential for investment in tourism, hydropower, natural resources, small and medium industries.
In the discussion with the Chamber, the officials of the Indian Chamber of Commerce thanked the Chamber for inviting them to the International Investment Conference.
Together with the Chamber of Commerce, they were willing to invest in Nepal and requested for urbanization. Anil Trigunayat, president of the Millennial Chamber, said that they are interested in investing in the fields of energy, tourism, etc
