After the Indian media published the news that Sheikh Hasina, the outgoing Prime Minister of Bangladesh, said that the United States had a role in her loss of power, the White House denied it. The United States has said that its involvement in the political change in Bangladesh is false.
According to the White House spokesperson Karin Peer, the power has been overthrown as per the demand of the Bangladeshi people. The White House says that the decision to dethrone Sheikh Hasina was chosen by the Bangladeshi people themselves and they have their full support for it. Similarly, Sheikh Hasina’s son Sajib Wajed Joy also refuted the published report and said that it is completely wrong.
Joy has made it clear that the published reports about the American involvement in the overthrow of his mother are false and fabricated. Just a few days ago, Sheikh Hasina had said that the US was involved in her overthrow, The Economic Times and The Print had published news. Meanwhile, Mohammad Tauhid Hussain, advisor to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh, said that effective steps will be taken to recall Sheikh Hasina, who left the country after the student protests.
He said that if the law ministry gives permission, they will try to bring Hasina back to the country. Similarly, a case of murder has been filed against Sheikh Hasina and 6 other people, according to the Bangladeshi newspaper Daily Star.
