Bangladesh govt building a non-communal country with equal rights to all- Prime Minister Hasina

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said that the Awami League government is building a non-communal country where everyone has equal rights.

Addressing the leaders of the Christian community on the occasion of the Christmas day in Dhaka on Wednesday, Prime Minister Hasina said that people from various communities live in Bangladesh. It is not a country of people with a single faith. The government works for the wellbeing of all religious faiths, said the Prime Minister.

Referring to ‘Unfinished Memoirs’ and some other books written by Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Prime Minister Hasina said that he showed respect to all religions. She said her government stood beside all in case of problems as her government believes that it has to work for all the people of the country. She reiterated her commitment to help the people who are lagging behind and ensure education, job and livelihood for them.

Referring to the mosque-based education, she said when the Awami League government arranges mosque-based education, it also makes similar arrangements of education in Hindu temples, churches and other places of worship.
