Bangkok- The sixth summit of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) has started. The BIMSTEC conference started with a group photo session of the heads of government of the member countries and the agenda was tabled at the Hotel Sadgrila in Bangkok.
The leaders of the member countries’ delegations were welcomed by the Prime Minister of Thailand, the host country, Pai Thong Thanh Shinawatra. The summit is scheduled to be addressed today by the heads of government of the member countries, including Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
After signing the ‘BIMSTEC Maritime Transport Cooperation’ at the summit, the Prime Ministers (leaders of delegations) of the member countries Thailand, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Myanmar, Nepal and Sri Lanka will address.
