Paris. Hong Kong’s air service provider Cathay Pacific is going to purchase 32 A320 Neo aircraft from the aircraft manufacturer Airbus. Cathay Pacific is going to purchase more aircraft to expand its services to China and the Asian region.
The actual details of the commercial transaction for the purchase of the aircraft have not been made public, but based on the current market value of the aircraft, it is estimated that the deal was between 3.2 billion and 4.1 billion US dollars.
Airbus has been claiming that its single-aisle A320 planes are superior to Boeing’s planes in terms of fuel consumption. Airbus claims that the A320 aircraft consumes less fuel than Boeing’s 737 MAX.
Cathay Pacific is one of the leading airlines in the world. This company said that it will purchase such aircraft from Airbus in 2017. According to Airbus, Cathay has received 13 of the orders given to Airbus in the same year and 10 more aircraft are expected to be available by 2029
