Solukhumbu. The area of the highest peak, Everest, has now become a popular destination for mountaineers and tourists who visit the base camp. What preparations have been made to make the Everest climb safe and successful?
At this time, reaching the base camp of Everest, the spring mountain climbing is going on. Some climbers are climbing towards the mountain and some are returning from the summit. At the moment, there is a lot of activity in the area of Mount Everest, the highest peak to be climbed.
There is a lot of activity at the base camp of Everest from local and foreign climbers, tourists, guides and porters to cooks. Khimlal Gautam, Member Secretary of the Mountaineering Monitoring Field Office, said that in order to make the climb safe after almost three months of preparation, the climbers as well as all who go with them should wear devices that can track their location.
Since the beginning of the commercial history of climbing Mt. Everest, first of all, ladders and ropes are placed on the Khumbu glacier on the way from base camp to camp two. This work is done by skilled Sherpas, who are called ‘icefall doctors’.
After making the way to Camp Two, climbing is opened by hanging a rope on the way to the peak above it. Only after doing this, the climbers begin their final journey towards the summit. Dr. Himalaya Rescue Association of Nepal has established an emergency room at the base camp, taking into account the health and safety risks that may occur in this area during the climbing of Mount Everest and at other times. Nishant Joshi said.
Mountain climbing also opens in autumn. But at that time there are fewer climbers. There has not been a successful ascent in the said yam for many years. According to Pasang Gyalzen Sherpa, Ward President of Solukhumbu, Khumbu Pasanglhamu Rural Municipality, there will be no shortage in the activity of the government and stakeholders to make the climb successful and safe.
Everest itself is our pride. It is necessary for climbers themselves and related parties and stakeholders to pay attention to how it can be climbed successfully and safely.
