Dhaka. The tension in Bangladesh has started to increase again. Rejecting Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s invitation to talk, student leaders are demanding her resignation.
On Saturday, protesters surrounded the capital’s main road. This protest is taking place at a time when more than 200 people have died in the country regarding the reservation of freedom fighters’ children in government jobs.
After giving 30% reservation in government jobs to the relatives of ex-servicemen who were involved in Bangladesh’s freedom struggle in 1971, there was a violent clash between the police and the protesting students in Bangladesh. Protesters blocked Dhaka’s main roads causing traffic jams.
