A gunman opened fire at a nursing home in Croatia on Monday, killing at least five people. HRT has informed that several people were injured.
An unidentified gunman entered a nursing home in Daruvar, about 130 kilometers (8 miles) east of Zagreb, and opened fire, state broadcaster HRT said.
Police confirmed that the incident was reported at 10:10 a.m. local time and that the suspect entered the nursing home and used a firearm. The person involved in the crime is in police custody, the police said in a statement.
The Croatian newspaper Zutarnji List described the alleged shooter as a retired military police officer.
Prime Minister Andrzej Plenkovic called on the relevant authorities to carry out a thorough investigation of the incident. Agency
