New York. Foreign Secretary Seva Lamsal met with the Secretary General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, on Tuesday. On the occasion of the meeting, cooperation between Nepal and the United Nations, Nepal’s plans to upgrade from an underdeveloped country to a middle-level developing country, and the role played by the United Nations in Nepal’s development were discussed, according to the New York-based Permanent Mission.
It is said that during the meeting, they discussed issues of multilateral interest including climate change. Secretary Lamsal has come here to participate on behalf of Nepal in the 4th International Conference of Small Island Developing States held in Warmuda. Secretary Lamsal had a courtesy meeting with Secretary General Guterres in the side line meeting of the same conference.
