Ncell’s Acting CTO, Lena Keshari Kansakar, has been bestowed with the esteemed ‘National ICT Excellence Awards 2024’ in the women’s category by the government. Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ presented the award to Kansakar during a special ceremony at Rastriya Sabha Griha (City Hall), commemorating National ICT Day 2024.
This recognition which also carries a purse of Rs. 100,000 acknowledges Kansakar’s outstanding contributions to the development and expansion of ICT and her efforts towards building a prosperous Nepal.
Kansakar embarked on her engineering career and joined Ncell as an Assistant Engineer in 2005. Currently serving as the Acting CTO of Ncell, she leads a technical team of over 140 employees and is the first Nepali woman to hold this position in Ncell.
While working in Ncell, Kansakar has been involved in numerous important projects, including the implementation of 2G, 3G, and extensive expansion of 4G networks. She has spearheaded initiatives such as telecommunications access in rural areas, VoLTE expansion, and the establishment of data centers.
Kansakar holds a Bachelor of Engineering from Kathmandu University, Master of Science in Information and Communications Engineering from Universität Karlsruhe (TH), Karlsruhe, Germany, and EMBA from Pokhara University. Her invaluable contributions have played a pivotal role in establishing Ncell as a leading telecommunications service provider in the country.
