Washington. US President-elect Donald Trump has said he will declare a national emergency on border security and use the US military to carry out mass deportations of undocumented immigrants.
After the increase in the number of illegal immigrants during the administration of President Joe Biden, Trump said that he would deport millions of undocumented immigrants and fix the border with Mexico.
The newly elected President Trump said this on social media.
On November 5, Trump was re-elected as US President, defeating Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris.
He has named Tom Homan, the former acting head of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, as his “border czar” and announced a cabinet of hard-line immigration members.
Attending the Republican National Convention last July, he told supporters, “I will send back the millions of illegal immigrants Joe Biden has brought in.”
About 11 million people are living illegally in the US. It is estimated that Trump’s deportation plan will have a direct impact on about 20 million families.
While the US government has been struggling for years to manage the southern border with Mexico, Trump has claimed that immigrants rape and kill Americans. During his campaign, Trump repeatedly raised his voice against illegal immigrants.
