Washington DC. The newly elected President of the United States, Donald Trump, has warned that if the Israeli hostages in the Gaza Strip are not released before his inauguration, there will be serious damage in the Middle East.
According to Israeli figures, Hamas terrorists took more than 250 hostages from Israel last year. Among those taken hostage are Israeli-American citizens. It is estimated that up to a hundred Israeli hostages may still be alive in Gaza.
At the same time, Trump issued a statement and warned that if the rest of the prisoners are not released before he takes office on January 20, there will be destruction in the Middle East. He also said that strict action will be taken against those who committed this atrocity against humanity. “If action is not taken at the right time, the United States will inflict punishment like no one has ever inflicted before,” Trump said.
Hamas said that in exchange for the release of the hostages, they are demanding an end to the war and the withdrawal of the Israeli army. But the Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, says that the war will continue until Hamas is completely destroyed. Lately, there have been protests against Netanyahu in Israel regarding the release of hostages.
Meanwhile, on Monday, Hamas said that 33 hostages in Gaza had died. But the nationality of those who died has not been revealed.
