In Bangladesh, 187 thousand 725 people have been infected with dengue so far this year, and more than 900 have died, the health department said on Sunday.
According to the statistics published by the Directorate General of Health Services under the Ministry of Health, a total of 909 dengue infected patients died in September, 342 in August and 204 in July.
According to the Directorate General, 63 thousand 917 dengue infections have been confirmed in September, 71 thousand 976 in August and 43 thousand 854 in July.
In the South Asian country, 16 people have died in the last 24 hours till 8 am local time on Sunday and 3 thousand 8 people have been infected with dengue.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population, the number of people who have recovered so far this year has reached 176,346. The monsoon period of June–September is the dengue fever season in Bangladesh, which is at high risk for mosquito-borne diseases.
