Kathmandu: The Kathmandu Valley woke up to an icy morning on Sunday as temperatures hit their lowest point this year, plummeting to a bone-chilling 2.2 degrees Celsius, as reported by the Meteorological Forecasting Division.
The cold spell extended beyond the capital, with Jumla enduring a shivering -4.9 degrees Celsius, Nepalgunj at 8.4 degrees, and Pokhara at a crisp 6 degrees Celsius.
Anticipating a further drop in temperatures in the upcoming days due to the absence of winter rains, the Meteorological Forecasting Division advises residents to prepare for more chilly weather.
As winter maintains its hold, Kathmandu and surrounding areas are urged to brace for a frosty stretch ahead.
