Kenyan climber dies while climbing Mt. without oxygen

Kathmandu. Kenyan climber Joshua Cheriot Kirui has died while climbing Mount Everest. Kirui was found dead near the peak of Mount Everest at 10:30 on Wednesday night while climbing Mount Everest without oxygen.
According to the tourism department, the 40-year-old climber of the ‘SST Everest Aspid 2024 Spring Team 2’ mountaineering team went to climb Mt. Everest through the Seven Summits Trek. He left the base camp for the second base camp on May 18 with his Nepali mountain guide Nwang Sherpa from Solukhumbu without oxygen. They stayed at the second camp on May 20 and reached the third camp on May 20. Although the climbers and their helpers reached near Everest, the department also said that they are not sure if they have climbed or not. After radio contact was not made by 9 o’clock on Wednesday afternoon, Seven Summit deployed four experienced mountaineers to Camp 2. Searched above.
In the process, the dead body of the Kenyan climber was found at 10:30 pm. According to the Department of Tourism, the search for the assistant Sherpa is still going on.
