Loss of Ecstasy, A Poem by Naheed Akhtar from India

Loss of Ecstasy

A Poem by Naheed Akhtar

I had wished intensely

Aching thorough and all

Along my heart

One day I would

Blissfully sit at the corners

Opposite to the horizon

Formed of the azure,

Shining sapphire

Incorporated with the crystal clean

Calmness.

Would blossom, much like the lotus

Under the color of rain laden cloud

(Symbolic for their divine love)

Sprinkling water at your feet

With a hand rested

Supporting the head

On your knees

But…aahh!!!

How long the fancy breathes

Such a grip of ecstasy
