Macron Says Islamic State Branch Behind Russia Attack, Also Targeted France

Manila. French President Emmanuel Macron said on Monday that France has information that the Islamic State (IS) attacked a concert hall in Moscow on Friday. He accused Russia of attacking Ukraine and warned Russia not to take advantage of it.

“France has intelligence information that a unit of the Islamic State has planned and executed an attack,” Emmanuel Macron told reporters after arriving on a visit to the French South American region of French Guiana.
However, he warned Russia against any “exploitation” of the attack, saying, “Trying to use this context against Ukraine would be reprehensible and counterproductive.”
