KATHMANDU Pakistan’s Ambassador to Nepal Abrar H Hashmi paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli today.

In the meeting held at the Prime Minister’s residence, Baluwatar, on Tuesday, various issues of bilateral relations and interests, trade, tourism, agriculture, renewable energy, disaster management, education, culture, etc. were discussed.
Prime Minister Oli emphasized that they are taking initiatives as the chairing countries to activate the South Asian Regional Cooperation Organization (SAARC) and the member countries should play a constructive role.

He clarified that even though there may be mutual problems between two countries, it should not have an adverse effect on regional organizations like SAARC, and Nepal has been expanding relations and cooperating with the spirit of ‘friendship with all and enmity with none’, taking into account the just national interests of a sovereign and independent country. Ambassador Hashmi informed Prime Minister Oli that they are ready to organize the SAARC Summit in Pakistan. He said that they are willing to cooperate further with Nepal on various issues in the coming days.
