Kathmandu. The body of Alexey Navalny, a staunch opponent of Russian President Vladimir Putin, will be handed over to his family after two weeks. After the death of Navalny in prison last week, it was said that the body was kept for chemical tests while informing his mother.
The family has not even been allowed to approach the body of Navalny, who died in one of Russia’s toughest prisons. Navalny’s wife has said that she hid her husband’s body. She also said that her husband was killed by Putin and that she will continue her husband’s campaign against Putin.
On the other hand, the Kremlin replied that they are studying Navalny’s death and have not yet received any results. It has also said that it will be handed over only after investigation.
After Navalny’s death, international pressure on Putin is increasing. In international forums including the United Nations, there has been a voice that Navalny’s death should be investigated. Similarly, the United States and the European Union are also discussing the issue of imposing new sanctions on Russia, according to the BBC.
However, Russia’s spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, said that Western comments regarding Navalny’s death were “arrogant” and unacceptable. Russia has said that Navalny died of ‘sudden death syndrome’. Agency
