Nepal has more than doubled its wild tiger population, from 121 in 2009 to 355

Kathmandu: Nepal made historic strides by doubling its  tiger population since 2009. Nepal has seen an exceptional growth of  tigers in the last 12 years, becoming the first nation to double the population of the big cat. Nepal has more than doubled its wild tiger population, from 121 in 2009 to 355.

 

USAID worked with government, local partners, and communities to tackle illegal wildlife trade, and sustain and protect healthy tiger populations.
