Nepal-India border coordination committee meeting: ‘Mutual cooperation and coordination will be done to control crime and smuggling

Parsa – The meeting of Nepal-India district level border coordination committee has been completed in Birganj on Saturday. In the meeting held at the meeting hall of the Integrated Security Checkpoint located in Birgunj, the officials of both the countries discussed the issue of mutual cooperation and coordination to face the cross border challenges. Officials of border districts of Nepal, senior officials of East Champaran and West Champaran districts participated in the meeting. In the meeting, the issues of border security, control of smuggling of counterfeit notes, control of arms, drugs, alcohol, tobacco and other illegal items were discussed. The meeting was held under the joint chairmanship of Dinesh Sagar Bhusal, Chief District Officer of Parsa District and Saurabh Jorwal, District Officer of East Champaran, Bihar, India. In the meeting, both the district officers jointly said that the talks were held in a very cordial and positive atmosphere and it will help a lot in controlling the illegal activities across the border in the future.
At the beginning of the meeting, India Bihar East Champaran District Officer Saurabh Jorwal and West Champaran District Officer Dinesh Kumar Rai thanked the Nepali side for the support received from Nepal on the occasion of India’s 2024 Lok Sabha Elections. , Superintendent of Police of both districts of Nepal, District Magistrate of West Champaran, Superintendent of Police of Bharat Bagaha, Commissioner of Motihari Municipality of India, Additional Collector, SDO of the headquarters and others were present.
