The Nepali Army and the United States Army are set to begin exercises to enhance disaster response capabilities. The exercises will be conducted from September 15 to September 20. The Nepali Army has indicated that such exercises facilitate the exchange of expertise and contribute to the improvement of military skills.
The press release issued by the Nepali Army states, “The exercise will involve the exchange of knowledge on existing methods and procedures to make search and rescue operations during various types of disasters more effective.” It further states that various related exercises will be conducted in Kathmandu, Makwanpur, and Dhading districts.
The Nepali Army and the United States Army have been conducting various exercises for a long time to exchange experiences in disaster management and humanitarian assistance, aiming to enhance disaster response capabilities. This is the fourth edition of the exercise, which began in 2012.
