Kathmandu: Nepali Congress has become the largest party in Parliament by ensuring 57 seats through the First-Pass-The-Post electoral procedure.
UML, with 44 seats, has become the second-largest party through the FPTP election. Furthermore, in Dolakha, where, vote counting is in progress, the UML candidate is leading against the Maoist Center candidate. If the UML candidate will win the election, it can add one more seat from Dolakha.
Until now, the Maoist Center is the third largest party with 17 seats from FPTP. If the Maoist Center candidate will win the election in Dolakha, it can add one more seat.
Unified Socialist Party has won 10 seats, whereas, Rastriya Swatantra Party, Rastriya Prajatantra Party and Janata Samajwadi Party have won seven seats each from FPTP.
Accordingly, Loktantrik Samajwadi Party has won four seats, Nagarik Unmukti Party has won three seats and Janamat Party, Rastriya Janamorcha, Nepal Majdoor Kishan Party have won one seat each. Five independent candidates won the election.
On the other hand, UML has become the largest party from the proportional election by keeping NC in the second position. Vote counting of the proportional election in Bajura and Dolakha is in progress. After the Bajura and Dolakha counting results, the entire vote-counting process will be completed.
The first meeting of the ruling coalition after the general election has been called at the Prime Minister’s official residence Baluwatar for 3 pm tomorrow. Speaking to the media after the meeting of Maoist officials, General Secretary Dev Gurung informed that the meeting of the alliance has been called for tomorrow.
