Nepali goods exported to third countries through northern border with China

Kathmandu: For the first time, Nepali goods have been exported to third countries through the northern border with China.

On the occasion of the 72nd International Customs Day, Nepali goods have been exported to Japan today through Tatopani border crossing.

According to Customs Office Chief Dayananda KC, this is the first time in the history of Nepal that Nepali goods have been transported to any third country making China a transit.

Currently, 2,400 boxes of Wai-Wai noodles have been exported to Japan via China, said KC, the head of customs. He also informed that turmeric was imported from Vietnam through the Tatopani border.

Imports from China have recently increased after the two-way border was opened on 1 May last year.
