Nepal’s request to India to provide more air routes

Foreign Minister Rana's attention to the Indian Foreign Secretary to proceed with the remaining work of the Pancheshwar project

Kathmandu. Nepal has requested India to provide more air routes to increase air connectivity. Foreign Minister Arju Rana made this request in a meeting with Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri who is visiting Nepal this morning.
During the meeting, Minister Rana also raised the issue of India’s initiative to set up a laboratory for measuring the quality of vegetables and fruits imported through the border areas of Nepal and India, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Similarly, Minister Rana also raised the issue of proceeding with the rest of the Pancheshwar project.
It is said that most of the problems have been solved and the rest will be addressed through the technical group. According to the ministry, Minister Rana raised the matter of releasing water in the Tanakpur Dam canal, controlling the flood of Banganga, Khando and Rapti rivers and providing necessary assistance to reduce the risk.
The foreign secretary level meeting was also completed today. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, issues such as economic and development assistance, bilateral interests, and speeding up ongoing projects were discussed in the meeting.
Foreign Secretary Misri today met Deputy Prime Minister and Urban Development Minister Prakashman Singh. Likewise, he also met with another Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel. According to the Deputy Prime Minister’s Secretariat, issues such as economic and development assistance, bilateral interests, and the speed of ongoing projects were discussed during the meeting. Similarly, the Indian Foreign Secretary also had a courtesy meeting with the Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak today. Earlier yesterday, he had a courtesy meeting with President Ramchandra Paudel and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, while he had separate meetings with Congress President and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and Chairman of the Maoist Center and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal.
Indian Secretary Misri, who came to Kathmandu yesterday on the invitation of Foreign Secretary Seva Lamsal, will return to New Delhi this evening.
