Kathmandu. Olympians have reached Biratnagar to participate in the Olympians Reunion and the meeting of celebrity athletes.
Olympic athletes from Austria, Malaysia and other countries have reached Biratnagar to participate in the four-day Olympians reunion program to be held in different cities of Koshi province. Bindia Karki, Vice President of Koshi State Sports Development Board, welcomed eight Olympic athletes at Biratnagar Airport on Wednesday afternoon.
Welcoming the athletes, Vice President Karki said that she is happy to welcome the athletes who have participated in the grandeur of sports like the Olympics to Koshi province. The secretary of Nepal Olympic Association, Devu Thapa, said that the work of the board, which is trying to bring together athletes who have presented their talents in various competitions, is commendable.
Comedian Sandeep Chhetri, who came along with the players, said that when such a program is held in honor of the players who are considered as jewels of the nation, the sports field will take a leap. He said that he is confident that the reunion program will not only make the old players feel respected but also encourage the younger generation who are entering the field.
All preparations for the event organized by the Koshi Province Sports Development Board and in conjunction with the Nepal Olympians Association have been completed. It is said that 60 Nepalese Olympians and 25 well-known players who have special attention to experience and practice within the province will participate in the reunion program. Foreign Olympians will also participate in the event.
It is said that during the four-day visit, the players will be taken to Morang, Sunsari, Jhapa and Ilam districts with an emphasis on tourism and sports promotion. Along with the sports tourism, the Sri Antu tourist area will also be exposed to the reunion tour program, the board said.
