On 44th World Tourism Day, Nepal organises several program to woo tourists

World Tourism Day is celebrated in Kathmandu and the tourist town of Pokhara with the slogan “Tourism and Green investment” marked by the organisation of various activities on September 27.

Marking the World Tourism Day, sapling plantation and blood donation programs were conducted in the daytime. On the same day, tourism organisations welcomed and honoured the tourists who arrived first in Pokhara by air and bus as well as tourists arriving with first flight at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu at 6 a.m. were welcomed by the Tourism Minister.

In the Lakeside of Pokhara, The Pokhara Tourism Council, in collaboration with the Ministry of Industry, Tourism, and Environment of Gandaki Province, Pokhara Metropolitan City and the Nepal Tourism Board, is organising the 44th World Tourism Day and mini Street Festival. The mini street festival is organised from Barahi Chowk to Khahare Chowk of Pokhara where there is open air cultural programs. Lively Bhoomi dance performance by locals of Pokhara and Bharatnatyam dance performance by students of SVCC of Indian Embassy was special attraction of Pokhara mini Street festival. Chief Minister of Gandaki Province Shree Surendra Raj Pandey graced the inauguration event and said that tourism is a source of prosperity for Pokhara, vacation in the Himalayas offers adventure along with religious tourism.
