O’ RAPIST!
A Poem Composed by Monalisa Parida
O’ Rapist!
She knew that
You can’t listen
To the jingles of her nerves
The rainbow brewing
On her lips
The dreams awaking
In her night long hours
And the carnival of soul
In her entire body.
O’ Rapist!
You didn’t give her
A little opportunity
To know her view.
You didn’t ask for her will
But played with her flesh
Until she became speechless not fearless.
Maybe
Keats was wrong to assume that
“Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholders”
He mustn’t have conjured the notion that
“Only flesh lies in the gaze of beasts.”
