According to the international media, there is a possibility that the presidential election schedule will be published on March 1. Asif Ali Zardari is likely to be the new president of Pakistan. He is the leader of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).
According to the news of the ‘Express Tribune’, the Electoral College, an important aspect of the presidential election, will be announced on February 29. will be formed. After that, the Election Commission will release the official program and public notice of the presidential election on March 1.
By February 29, all the four provincial assemblies will come into existence and after that, the work of forming the Electoral College necessary for the election of the President will be completed, Sam TV reported, quoting the spokesperson of the Election Commission.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Shehbaz Sharif has prepared to form a new coalition government at the centre. PML-N has announced Asif Ali Zardari of Pakistan Peoples Party (PP) as its presidential candidate. Zardari was previously the President of Pakistan from September 2008 to 2013.
The results of the election held on February 8 were announced. No party could get a clear majority. After that, PML-N and PPP decided to form an alliance.
