Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli unveils NPL trophy

Kathmandu: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has unveiled the Nepal Premier League (NPL) trophy. Prime Minister Oli unveiled the NPL trophy from Dharahara on Monday morning.
At the event, Oli said that the unveiling from the historical site Dharahara has created a wake-up call for sports. He said, ‘NPL supports history and culture. And NPL inspires the coming generation.’ Oli believed that cricket has become the pride of the young generation.
At the event, Nepal Cricket Association (CAN) Secretary Paras Khadka informed that the main attraction of the NPL trophy is the Kalapathar stone, the base camp of Mount Everest. He said that this is not only a trophy but also a message to the world to protect the mountains.
The first edition of the Nepal Premier League will be held in Kathmandu from Mangsir 15 to Poush 6. The 8 franchise teams of the NPL are Kathmandu Gurkhas, Biratnagar Kings, Janakpur Bolts, Chitwan Rhinos, Pokhara Avengers, Lumbini Lions, Karnali Yaks and Sudurpaschim Royals. The NPL will be broadcast live on the Indian channel Star Sports.
