Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ emphasized the crucial role of tunnel passages in improving road connectivity during an address at a ceremony commemorating the breakthrough of the Nagdhunga Tunnel Road.
Addressing the event, the Prime Minister underscored the significance of this achievement in infrastructure development, stating that such road connectivity plays a vital role in achieving national goals.
It facilitates convenient and affordable travel, promotes geographical and democratic closeness, and helps maintain provincial balance in development.
The government, he affirmed, will prioritize the construction of tunnel passages, flyovers, and underpasses along national highways to ensure advanced road connectivity.
Additionally, Prime Minister Dahal highlighted positive economic indicators, indicating progress towards prosperity.
He noted improvements in revenue collection, a reduction in fuel imports due to the promotion of electric vehicles, increased exports of cement and corrugated zinc sheets, a rise in tourist arrivals, and expansion in the housing and apartment businesses outside Kathmandu Valley.
