The eleventh edition of the entrepreneurial ecosystem summit will be held between June 7 and 9 next year at La Nave de Madrid and will have the support of Spain’s Secretary of State for Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence, the regional government of Madrid, and Madrid City Hall. South Summit 2023 has also announced the opening of a new edition of its Startup Competition, which will showcase 100 of the most innovative and disruptive startups in the world. South Summit is consolidating its position as the main connection network for entrepreneurs, startups, top national and international investors and corporations in search of innovation.

Madrid: South Summit, the annual meeting co-organized by IE University, has announced its 11th edition, which will take place from June 7 to 9, 2023 at La Nave in Madrid and will be held under the slogan ‘Today 2030’ with the institutional support of Spain’s Secretary of State for Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence, the regional government of Madrid and Madrid City Hall. The summit will serves as the main meeting and connection point for key players in the entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem, on a global level, and aims to open a window to the future so that entrepreneurs and investors can learn about upcoming trends and today’s most innovative entrepreneurs.

“We have chosen the slogan ‘Today 2030’ because we are sure that the future is going to be good, despite the uncertainties we are currently experiencing. And the fact is that, compared to the crisis we went through in 2012 when we started the summit, today we have a powerful entrepreneurial ecosystem and very creative entrepreneurs, capable of creating highly innovative projects to design a better future,” noted María Benjumea, founder and CEO of South Summit, during the presentation ceremony of South Summit 2023 held this week in Madrid.

‘Today 2030’ also summarizes the upcoming challenges that both the entrepreneurial ecosystem and society as a whole must face, with sustainability, inclusion, and equality as the three pillars of the eleventh edition of South Summit. Specifically, sustainability and respect for the environment will be hugely significant to the next South Summit meeting. “Thanks to our entrepreneurs, I am convinced that by 2030 we will be able to achieve the goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 55%,” said Benjumea.

As it does every year, South Summit Madrid 2023 will bring together the most innovative and disruptive startups from around the world in order to present their projects, innovation ideas, and business models to investors and corporations from all sectors.

Ten years on, South Summit has established itself as a leading event for the entrepreneurial and innovation ecosystem worldwide, as well as one of the best platforms for projects looking to raise their profile. South Summit 2023 will give a special place to the winners of the Startup Competition, which each year chooses the 100 most disruptive startups in the world. Entrepreneurs interested in participating can register until February 15 through the South Summit website: https://www.southsummit.co/startups/startup-competition/#

“Six of the seven Spanish unicorns (three from Madrid and three from Barcelona) have passed through South Summit and the Startup Competition. We remain committed to this competition that showcases our talent because when we started in 2012, Spain was not a major player in the global ecosystem and today it is the origin of great unicorns,” explained Benjumea.

The 2022 edition of South Summit brought together the Spanish and global entrepreneurial ecosystem in person: 40% of the attendees were startups, 30% corporations and 12% investors. During its three days of celebration, more than 220 investment funds (72% international) with a portfolio of 250,000 million dollars passed through La Nave and more than 1,66,423 connections were organized.
