Kathmandu. The sports week has started at Nepal Engineering College (NEC) Bhaktapur with the slogan ‘Let’s play and have fun and celebrate sports’. The college organizes a sports week every year with the aim of bringing out the inherent talent in the students.
Durga Prasad Bhandari, Acting Principal of the college in a program on Thursday while inaugurating the sports week, said that the college is always positive to expose the art and talent of students along with studies. “The college is always committed to bringing forward the talents of students through sports. Here, they should be disciplined and expose their talents.” He said that students can become successful in life through sports.
According to Ashish Jha, media relations officer of the college, about 2000 students studying in graduation level VE and VIARC are involved in the sports week. According to the student welfare branch of the college, two dozen competitions including football, volleyball, coverdi, basketball etc. will be conducted during the sports week.
It is said that medals and certificates will be distributed to the best students in the competition. Medals and certificates will be distributed to the winning students on a daily basis as the finals of the competition are over. It is said that the competition will run until June 30.
