T20 International Series: Nepal won against Namibia

Kathmandu. Nepal has achieved a thrilling victory over Namibia in the third match of the triangular T20 international cricket series in Kathmandu.
Nepal defeated Namibia by 3 runs in the match held on Friday at the University Cricket Ground in Kirtipur. Along with this, Nepal is keeping the possibility of playing the final alive. When Namibia needed 12 runs to win in the last over, Karan KC of Nepal gave only 8 runs with economical bowling and Nepal won by 3 runs.

Chasing the target of 181 runs given by Nepal, Namibia managed to score only 177 runs after losing 7 wickets in 20 overs. For Namibia, captain JJ Schmidt scored 50, Jan Frylink 37, JP Kotze 25 and Jane Green scored 23 runs.

On the bowling side, Nepal’s Karan KC, Sompal Kami and Dipendrasingh Airi tied 2-2 and Avinash Bohra took 1 wicket.

Before that, Nepal, who lost the toss and were invited to bat first, scored 180 runs after losing 8 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs. Nepal’s Kushal Malla scored 55 runs, Arif Sheikh scored 31 runs and Gulshan Jha scored 26 runs.

On the bowling side, Namibian Ben Shikonko took 3 wickets and Jack Brussels took 2 wickets.

Now Nepal will play against Netherlands tomorrow. In the first match of the series, Nepal lost to Namibia by 20 runs. In the second match, they lost to the Netherlands by 2 runs.

In the ongoing series, the Netherlands is at the top of the table with 4 points from 2 matches. Nepal has climbed to the second place with 2 points. Namibia is also in the third place on the basis of net run rate by 2 points.
