Kathmandu. The 16th meeting of the Nepal-China Secretary-level Diplomatic Consultative Mechanism is being held tomorrow in Kathmandu. Chinese Deputy Foreign Minister Sun Weidong is coming to Nepal for the meeting today.
The meeting will be led by Deputy Foreign Minister Sun from the Chinese side and Foreign Secretary Seva Lamsal from Nepal. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting will discuss mutual cooperation between the two countries, trade, border management and bilateral agreements.
Nepal has set an agenda for the discussion including China’s cooperation, trade, investment and tourism promotion, connectivity expansion and agriculture, education, culture and people-to-people relations. It is said that the meeting will also discuss the construction of 220 kV cross-border transmission line and the speedy completion of Chinese investment projects in Nepal.
The 15th meeting of the mechanism was held in Beijing last year. Chinese Deputy Foreign Minister Sun will have a courtesy call on President Ram Chandra Paudel and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal during his three-day visit to Nepal, the ministry said.
