The bodies of 5 hostages found by the Israeli army in Gaza

Kathmandu. The Israeli military said on Thursday, October 7, that it had found the bodies of five people who were taken hostage in the Gaza Strip during a Hamas attack in southern Israel.
The army said that the bodies of Maya Goren, who were held hostage, as well as the soldiers Ravid Aryeh Katz, Oren Goldin, Tomar Ahimas and Kirill Brodsky, were returned to Israel.
According to the army, the bodies were recovered on Wednesday during an operation in Khan Yunis, the main city of the Gaza Strip. The military said four soldiers were killed in an attack by Hamas militants on October 7.

In December, the army announced the death of Goren. He was kidnapped and taken to Gaza on October 7.

The announcement came Thursday after two Israeli kibbutzim, Nir Oz and Nir Yitzhak, said the army had recovered the bodies of Goren and Goldin in separate statements.

“We were informed last night that the body of the late Maya Goren was found during a military rescue operation,” Kibbutz Nir Oz said. He said Goren’s family has been notified and more information will be provided.

Later, in a separate statement, Kibbutz Nir Yitzhak said the military had returned Goldin’s body. “This evening we were notified of the rescue operation of the late Oren Goldin, a member of the Kibbutz Emergency Team, who was killed in an attack by Hamas militants on October 7.”
