KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has claimed that the current government led by him has also carried out heroic and pro-people works so that history will remember them.
He said this while addressing the 39th anniversary ceremony of Nepal Television on Wednesday. He said that the current government under his leadership has completed one year and one month and in the meantime, it has progressed in a way that will be remembered in history.
He said that the government’s investigation into the fake Bhutanese refugee scandal, the bold action taken in the Lalita Niwas case, and the impartial investigation into the gold scandal have exposed the crimes committed through abuse of state power. Laws made in favor of meter badge victims, creation of citizenship law for the children of Nepali citizens without citizenship, lakhs of people employed abroad and working in the informal self-employment sector.
He said that some examples of initiatives taken by the government in the field of social justice are the provision of contribution-based social security fund for working people, steps to remove unorganized queues at offices providing daily services such as passports and driver’s licenses, provision of free beds in hospitals, improvements in the health sector, availability of textbooks and supply of fertilizers. .
He claimed that due to the corrective measures taken by the government, our economy is now gradually returning to the rhythm from the crisis. Will Prime Minister Dahal say anything to the people? He said that positive thinking is developing. He said that the current government is committed to building the necessary structures and infrastructure to guarantee freedom of thought and expression, right to information and complete freedom, as well as legal and practical assurance.
He said that providing the right to information will be established as the responsibility of the state with the effective implementation of the laws created for working journalists.

Prime Minister Dahal said that the government should adopt the system of regulation to make the media operated by using the latest technology reliable, responsible and accountable.
He said that some of the new policy arrangements made by the government to encourage the development and use of technology in the field of journalism are not for control but for regulation and management.
