Kathmandu. President Ram Chandra Paudel is going to Geneva, Switzerland today. He is going to participate in the inaugural forum of the ‘Global Coalition for Social Justice’ which will be organized at the 112th high-level session of the International Labor Conference.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, President Paudel is scheduled to address the opening forum of the Global Alliance for Social Justice on May 31. He will have a bilateral meeting with the President of the Swiss Confederation Viola Amard on May 30.
This is the first time that a bilateral meeting is going to be held between the head of state of Nepal and the president of Swiss Confederation. Acting Secretary and Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Amrit Bahadur Rai informed that after the visit, President Poudel will leave Geneva for Berlin, Germany on June 1.
He is going to make an official visit to Germany at the invitation of the President of the Federal Republic of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, President Poudel will hold formal talks with the German President on June 3. It is said that the opportunity for the head of state of Nepal to present his views on the common platform of the world community is an important opportunity for the country and the people.
President Paudel’s press adviser Kiran Pokharel said that since the President was invited as the keynote speaker at the ILO conference, the United Nations should understand the agenda of social justice as a matter that has been fully embraced by our constitution and the Federal Democratic Republic and established internationally.
President Paudel will be accompanied by his wife Savita Paudel. Among other members of the delegation, the President’s foreign affairs expert. Suresh Chandra Chalise, Secretaries of the Office of the President and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nepali Ambassadors to Switzerland and Germany and senior officials of the Office of the President and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. President Poudel is scheduled to return home on June 5th.
