Trump’s tenure has shaken the world: These decisions were made in a week

Kathmandu- US President Donald Trump has made one ‘tough’ decision after another since taking office. Trump’s decisions have begun to affect not only the US but also the world.
Trump, who was elected president last November, took office on January 20. Immediately after taking office, he issued various executive orders.
Trump’s initial directives have brought about changes in issues ranging from trade, immigration, US foreign aid, demographic diversity, human rights to employee recruitment.
In particular, the Trump administration is making every effort to deport millions of immigrants who are entering the US illegally. This seems to be likely to result in the return of thousands of citizens from various countries.
In addition, Trump’s decision to suspend foreign aid seems to be likely to cancel such programs in several countries.
Here are the decisions Trump has made in a week since becoming president for the second time:

Immigration
Trump decided to stop the arrival of immigrants from the southern border, deploying the military to the border for that, and to stop the entry of refugees, effective from January 27.
Just on Sunday, the US decided to send people back to Colombia on two military planes. Colombian President Gustavo Petro had refused to land, saying that military aircraft should not be used to repatriate his citizens, acting like criminals. However, after Trump announced a 25 percent tax on imports from Colombia, he agreed.
Similarly, Trump decided to deny citizenship at birth to children whose parents are not American citizens and who are in the country illegally. However, this decision was blocked by a US court, saying it was unconstitutional.
He has also continued to build a wall on the Mexican border.

Trump instructed the Attorney General and the Secretary of the Interior to form a ‘task force’ with federal and local law enforcement in all 50 states. The task force has been instructed to dismantle criminal cartels, foreign gangs, and international criminal organizations.
Similarly, Trump has directed the Department of Homeland Security to give local immigration officers the same authority as federal immigration officers.

The Trump administration has directed the collection of DNA and fingerprints of all immigrants crossing the US border to be fully implemented. This information will be stored in a large criminal database operated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

International Trade and Economy

Trump has directed the entire executive branch to work on policies to reduce consumer prices or inflation. He has said that he will request a report on this from the White House economic adviser every 30 days.

Trump has directed the Secretary of the Treasury and Commerce, representatives of the business sector, and other officials to find out the causes of the US trade deficit. He has asked them to identify illegal trade activities and suggest some kind of supplementary global tax.

The Revenue Service has been established abroad to collect tariffs, fees, and other revenues related to foreign trade.

He has instructed to look into the possibility of additional taxes on trade agreements with China.
Similarly, he has instructed to impose taxes and bans on imports of fentanyl drugs from Canada, Mexico and China, which are 30 to 50 times more potent than heroin and 100 times more potent than morphine.

Trump has already made decisions such as withdrawing from the global tax deal designed to prevent large corporations from evading taxes and temporarily halting the ban on TikTok.

Climate, energy and environment Trump has also issued executive orders on some issues related to mitigating climate change and stopping global warming. He has instructed to withdraw the United States from the Paris Climate Agreement, declare a national energy emergency, and proceed with energy projects at all costs.

He has eliminated the policy that encouraged the development and purchase of electric vehicles introduced by outgoing President Joe Biden.

Similarly, he has given a 30-day ultimatum to the relevant agencies to change policies that discourage the use of coal, oil, natural gas, hydroelectricity, biofuels, important minerals and nuclear energy.

In addition, he has instructed the federal law to be followed for everything from mining in Alaska to hunting and fishing.

Similarly, he has revoked the policy that prevented the limitation of fossil fuels from the Biden administration.

Inclusion, transgender and civil rights
Trump has given all branches, departments and agencies a 60-day deadline to terminate the inclusion program for hiring employees from general to executive levels.

Another OMB memo (instruction) has asked all federal employees hired through such programs to immediately take leave. They will likely be removed.

Trump has revoked various directives from the Biden administration that were implemented on a racial basis. The decisions reversed range from gender identity and gender-based benefits, educational initiatives available to Native Americans, Hispanics, and black Americans, to allowing sexual and gender minorities to enlist in the military.

Passports, visas, Global Entry Cards, and all other forms and documents must be marked with the same gender as men and women.

He has ordered that only two genders be recognized. He has also banned federal government spending to promote gender ideology.

Foreign Policy, National Security, and ‘America First’

He has lifted the Biden administration’s ban on the anti-Palestinian far-right group in the West Bank.

He has instructed Secretary of State Marco Rubio to adopt an ‘America First’ policy, putting the country’s interests first in all matters, including politics, programs, the military, and operations.

Trump has designated Yemen’s Houthi group as a terrorist organization.

Similarly, he has issued an executive order to halt all U.S. foreign development assistance, pending a 90-day review and further decision.

He has rescinded Biden’s executive order on AI development.

In addition, Trump has ordered the establishment of the Department of Government Efficiency by July 4 to improve federal hiring and government machinery.

He has repealed various Biden administration policies in the health sector. He has withdrawn the United States from the World Health Organization (WHO) and ordered it not to provide additional funding to the WHO in the future.

He has renamed the highest mountain in North America in Alaska Mount McKinley, in memory of the 25th US President William McKinley. Trump considers McKinley a role model for improving the US economy and expanding its borders.

The peak was renamed Denali in 2015 by then-President Barack Obama.

Trump has directed the attorney general to investigate whether 37 federal prisoners whose death sentences were commuted to life in prison by Biden can be prosecuted on criminal charges.

Trump has pardoned hundreds of people serving sentences in connection with the January 6, 2021, attack on Capitol Hill.

He has said he will impose a 25 percent tariff on imports from Canada and Mexico, but has not decided on this.

Trump’s comments about buying Greenland have been controversial. The world’s largest economy, the United States, has a GDP of $27.7 trillion. Greenland’s GDP is $3.24 billion.

The Trump administration’s Department of the Interior announced on Friday that it has officially renamed the Gulf of Mexico as the Gulf of the Americas. These and other decisions by Trump are having an impact on the United States and the world.
