Two Poems Composed by Ranjit K. Sahu
1. DARK GREY CLOUDS
Descending on blue hills the dark grey bales
Accumulate in summer afternoon
Rolling across the skies in the swift gales
Kiss the forest canopies just too soon!
Gone is the heat and dust of the bright day
Relieving the earth cooling rain pours down
Each drop sings its song as the rain drops play
Yards and grounds getting wet across the town
Clouds that are grey can still spring a surprise
Lighting up the sky when the sun breaks out
Over the hills when colored rainbows rise
Unveiling their magic for those in doubt
Do things that look scary hide a stunner?
Sky may answer as it hosts these runners.
2. STORMS IN SUMMER
Suddenly the sky changes its blue shades
Thunder roars loudly, lightning flashes across
Over the trees and over the grass blades
Rain falls in torrents and sky is the Boss
Mark the changes in the temper and tone
Summer swiftly changes format and form
In the sunrise what was normal and known
No more remains so, sunset breaks the norm
Storms can creep up without giving warning
Under the call of the winds the clouds blow
Moods of the wind changes after morning
Moods of the rivers changes are they flow
Each hour gives a new look to the terrain
Rain or no rain the dark clouds float again
