US Secretary of State Antony Blinken begins talks in Beijing with his Chinese counterpart

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has begun talks in Beijing with his Chinese counterpart Qin Gang. The talks are aimed at easing tension between the two countries. Mr Blinken is the highest-level American official to visit China since President Joe Biden took office, and the first Secretary of State to make the trip in five years. Ahead of his departure, Mr Blinken said, he would seek to responsibly manage their relationship by finding ways to avoid miscalculations between the US and China.
