In the all India Radio programme “Mann Ki Baat ” held on 25th December 2022, Honourable Prime Minister of India, Mr Narendra Modi remembered the Golden Sacrifices of Guru Gobind Singh ji’s four Sahibzade (Sons)
While illustrating he told about the courageous deeds of 4 Sahibzads (Sons,) of Guru Gobind Singh ji and announced that this year on December 26, 2022 , will be celebrated as ‘Veer Bal Diwas’ in the great memory of Char Sahijadas. He further told that it will be a true tribute to them , In another tweet, he wrote about of ‘The Bravery of Mata Gujri Devi, mother of Sh.Shri Guru Gobind Singh ji and their four Sahibzads (sons) that give courage to crores of people of India. These brave human beings never bowed their heads before injustice. It is notable that the martyrdom day of all the four Sahibzads of Guru Gobind Singh ji and Mata Gujri falls in the last week of December every year after 1704 Which is called month of Poh (Posh) by the Punjabis and during this month no auspicious celebrations are made . On 22nd December, 1704, Guru Gobind Sahib’s elder Sahibzade Ajit Singh and then Jujhar Singh were martyred. On December 27th , 1704, two younger Sahibzade of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, Jorawar Singh and Fateh Singh, were erected alive in the wall by the Nawab of Sirhind for not accepting Islam. As soon as the wall was built, the Sahibzadas started reciting ‘Japu Ji Sahib’.when the wall was completed and the voice of Jaikara , ‘Bole So Nihal, Sat Shri Akal’ came from inside. When the wall was broken, the children were alive but they were forcibly killed. On the other hand, after hearing the news of the martyrdom of Sahibzadas, Shri Guru Govind Singh Ji’s mother Gujri Ji thanked Akal Purakh for this proud martyrdom and sacrificed her life.
When 35 Sikhs had been martyred in the field of Chamkaur, Guru Gobind Singh’s eldest Sahibzade Ajit Singh got ready to go to war. When Guru ji prepared him himself, the younger Sahibzada Jujhar Singh started crying. He started crying not because of the fear of his brother going to war, but when he was young, why was he not given a chance earlier. Their martyrdom is a golden page in the history of Sikh community
