Kathmandu. The world sports event ‘Paris Olympics 2024’ is starting from today.
The official opening of the tournament will be held today, but some games including football have already started.
According to the international media, preparations for the opening ceremony to be held on Friday in the capital of France, Paris, have been completed.
But it is estimated that rain can become a big obstacle in the opening ceremony of the Olympics.
The weather forecast division has informed that it will rain near the river Seine during the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics.
France’s Meteorological Department, Meteo France, has forecast rain on Friday. The weather will be clear in the afternoon, but there is a possibility of rain again in the evening as the opening ceremony is held. But even if it rains, the opening program will be held on schedule.
A 128-year-old record is about to be broken in Paris Olympics. For 128 years in the history of the Olympics, the opening ceremony has been held only in the stadium.
For the first time in Paris, the opening ceremony is going to be held on the banks of the river rather than in the stadium. Since the modern Olympics started in 1896, the opening ceremony has been held in the stadium.
Usually, players enter the stadium by marching traditionally. But at the Paris Olympics, the participating 10,050 athletes will ride in more than 90 boats in a six-kilometer parade down the Seine.
Hundreds of spectators will be present on the banks of the river Sein during this period. Apart from all these, many big celebrities will perform there.
Famous singers Lady Gaga and Celine Dion will also perform at the Olympic opening ceremony. 7 players from 4 sports will compete in Paris Olympics.
Santoshi Shrestha of athletics, Sushmita Nepal of shooting, Duwana Lama and Alexander Shah of swimming, Santu Shrestha of table tennis, Prince Dahal of badminton and Manita Shrestha Pradhan of judo will represent Nepal in the Olympics.
Only Saintu of table tennis passed the qualifying stage and played in the Paris Olympics, while the remaining 6 players are going to participate in the Olympics as wild cards.
