The U.S. Coast Guard said Friday afternoon it found a crashed plane matching the description of the one missing off the west coast of Alaska with 10 people aboard.
The plane was found about 54 kilometers southeast of Nome in western Alaska. The American Coast Guard has confirmed that all 10 people on board have died.
The wreckage was found after an hour-long search amid poor weather conditions and low visibility. A turboprop Cessna Caravan operated by Bering Air went missing Thursday afternoon, the Alaska Department of Public Safety said.
