Discovery of Forefathers, A poem by Tapas Dey

Discovery of Forefathers

 Poem Composed by Tapas Dey

In the enormous sky of the evening,

Stars bloom, twos and threes,

They look studded in the black canopy.

They come down in disguise of the wind,

They play hide and seek

With my childhood days.

Gradually, the evening enters into

The dense forest of the night.

At play with the glowworms in my dream,

I see myself in all trees and plants,

Talking to one another joyfully

In the old language.

I discover myself in them

A lineage of ancient souls.

They seem to be telling me,

“Harm us not, we are your forefathers.”
