Kathmandu-– The first phase of the world’s largest integrated green hydrogen, ammonia and methanol project has come into operation in Songyuan City, Jilin Province, China.

The project is expected to produce 45,000 tons of green hydrogen annually, equivalent to about a fifth of China’s current total hydrogen production. The first phase of the project alone is expected to reduce carbon emissions by 740,000 tons annually.

Developed by China Energy Engineering Corporation (CEEC), the project is said to have achieved significant technological achievements in large-scale hydrogen production and integrated synthesis of green hydrogen, ammonia, and methanol.

Company Chairman Ni Zhen said that the company has successfully combined the ups and downs of new energy with the stable production of chemicals, paving the way for the development of a green hydrogen-based chemical industry across the country.

Meanwhile, Alexander Severis, CEO of CMB.Tech, called the project a major achievement in reducing the shipping industry’s carbon emissions. Agency(Edited)Restore original
