Kathmandu : The Nepali Congress has unanimously selected a new Central Working Committee under the leadership of Gagan Thapa through its special general convention.
The convention elected Gagan Thapa as party president. Bishwoprakash Sharma and Pushpa Bhusal were elected unopposed as vice presidents, while Guru Ghimire and Pradeep Paudel secured the posts of general secretaries without contest. Overall, the convention elected 13 office-bearers and 121 central committee members.
Meanwhile, the following leaders have been unanimously elected as joint general secretaries representing various communities: Uday Shumsher Rana (Khas Arya), Prakash Rasaili ‘Snehi’ (Dalit), Muktakumari Yadav (Madhesi), Dila Sangraula (Women), Farmulla Mansoor (Muslim), Yogendra Chaudhary (Tharu), Karna Bahadur Budha (Backward region), and Bahadur Singh Lama (Indigenous Peoples).
